About the Artist
Kath Leone is a London-based artist and textile designer, originally from Cape Town, South Africa. Inspired by natural environments ranging from kelp forests to English woodlands, her practice explores sea life, plants, insects, animals, and fungi in intricate and imaginative ways.
Her work primarily combines screen printing with watercolour washes, creating a layered, nostalgic quality. Kath also experiences synaesthesia—a condition where sounds and words evoke colours, textures, and shapes—which deeply influences her art. This sensory overlap drives her use of complex translucent layers, producing works that glow with otherworldly colour and energy.
