About the Artist

Kath Leone is a London-based artist and textile designer, originally from Cape Town, South Africa. Her work draws inspiration from nature — from kelp forests to ancient woodlands — and often features plants, fungi, sea life, and insects.

Primarily a screen printer, Kath prepares her papers with subtle watercolour washes to create depth and a storybook-like quality. Living with synaesthesia, she perceives colour, texture, and shape in response to everyday sounds and words. This heightened sensory perception informs her layered, glowing compositions, producing artworks with complex translucent inks and a luminous, otherworldly quality.
