About the Artist
Born in South Korea (1996), raised in the Philippines, and now based in the UK, Sophia Rosenthal’s practice is shaped by her multicultural upbringing. Highlighting themes of loss, longing, and fragmented recollections, she transforms personal photographs into experimental compositions. Influenced by post-impressionism, photography, and New Figuration painters, Sophia uses layered textures, resist techniques, and vivid color to explore memory as a continuously unfolding set of impressions reflecting on migration and globalized experience.
